Thatcher

When I was young we would drive past a beautiful cottage and I would say, "When I grow up I'm going to live in a house with a carpet on top."

I'm still not properly grown up so there is still time but maybe it was the reaction that I got that put me off.  They would suck air in sharply through their teeth and say,  "Ooo are you sure?  It looks very pretty but it won't look after you.  It will leak in the rain, let the cold in when it's windy, cost you lots of money and you'll have to have regular visits from the Thatcher!"
